Finding real, publicly available listings with clear gaps, and rewriting them the way I would for a client. I approached each one as a buyer first - spotting what made me hesitate or scroll away - then as a VA, fixing it with a clear title, structured copy, and supporting visuals. I intentionally picked listings across three different categories to show this process is repeatable, not tied to one niche.
Business Goal: Prove the ability to spot exactly what's costing a live store sales - not just describe general best practices.
My Role: Buyer-perspective audit, copywriting, image direction, live Shopify rebuild for verification.
Tools Used: Shopify, DALL·E, Canva.
Business Impact: Three real listings - across skincare, home décor, and pet apparel - rewritten and rebuilt live to show the before-and-after difference in title clarity, structure, and visual proof.
Generic, non-differentiated title with no brand name or standout ingredient mentioned. The description was a single unstructured paragraph, and only two small images were shown - no lifestyle or texture shots.
Rewrote the title with brand + benefit + hero ingredient. Restructured the description into benefit-led bullets. Separated "How to Use." Added a styled hero shot, lifestyle application shot, and ingredient benefits graphic.
A clearer, more scannable, more search-friendly listing - rewritten and reshot from a buyer's perspective, then rebuilt as a real live Shopify listing to verify.
Nourishing Vitamin Cream
Before DescriptionSingle unstructured paragraph, no bullets, no brand name in title.
Kalinka Nourishing Vitamin Cream - Antioxidant Night Cream with Carotene
After DescriptionBenefit-led opening, scannable bullet points, separated How to Use section.
Clean photo and descriptive title, but missing critical selling elements - only one image with no styled context, and no product description at all. The "Real Touch" quality claim had zero visual support.
Wrote a full description covering material story, styling uses, and care instructions. Strengthened the title with a clear benefit phrase. Added a styled lifestyle shot and a macro texture close-up.
Went from a single bare product photo to a complete, buyer-ready presentation - proving quality visually instead of asking buyers to take a claim on faith.
12 Inch Blue Real Touch Hydrangea Bundle (4 Stem)
Before DescriptionNone - single plain photo on white background.
K & K 12-Inch Blue Real Touch Hydrangea Bundle - Lifelike Faux Florals for Home Décor
After DescriptionFull description with styling uses and care instructions, plus lifestyle and texture visuals.
Generic brand-wide boilerplate copy that never mentioned the racecar print - the product's one true differentiator - and ended with a mismatched keyword tag dump ("glitter, sparkle") clearly copy-pasted from a different product template.
Rewrote the description to lead with the racecar print. Removed mismatched tags. Repositioned brand specs below the product-specific copy. Wove the charitable mission into the description. Added a worn/fit photo for scale confidence.
A listing that actually sells this collar, not a generic template, while surfacing the brand's real differentiator at the moment it can influence a purchase decision.
Racecar Nylon Dog Collar
Before DescriptionGeneric brand-wide boilerplate; no mention of the racecar print; leftover mismatched tags.
Doot's Racecar Nylon Dog Collar - Bold Print Collar for a Cause
After DescriptionProduct-specific copy, mission woven in, plus a worn/fit shot showing real scale.
